I'm blogging here to let you know I also blog on my own blog and that at that blog I point to articles that I am writing about self promotion for the art and framing industry.  How is that for a run on sentance?  I have a website www.makemoreart.com and it is a growing online resource for anyone in the art and framing industry.   At first it started to be about purchasing a permanent visual "frame space" on my growing collage of resources on my homepage.  But it did not take long for me to learn from emails coming in that so many people don't know about self promotion the web.   I myself and always learning and have so far to go!  But I realized maybe the things that I have learned on my own can help others who are in the same boat.   I am lucky in a way, I am married to a programmer and so I am constantly around computers, tech magazines and the latest gadgets.   So I started my first 5 part series and posted them online for free.  And since I know firsthand (thanks to my husband) that not everyone likes to write or read like me, so I created an audio version of each article.   How cool is that?!  I learned pretty quick I had hit on something... you know why?  Because people started signing up to receive the articles by email.   So all those times I felt like I was the only one on earth trying to make sense of all that is out there, I now know I should have felt that way at all.

The Brazilian sculptor, Junior, was born into a very big artistic family. It was there where creativity was encouraged and developed from an early age. His earliest memories were of being exposed to his father's paper printing business, where his creativity came alive making drawings, creating origami, pinwheels, and other playful items. Conventional plastic toys were usually tossed aside for toys that he could create with his own hands!

When asked where he gets his inspiration from, he says, "I consider myself a very lucky person for having so many talented people around me all the time. Whether it's the very creative people in my own family, my friends, or colleagues I've worked with in the architecturing and industrial designing fields. I can't help but be inspired by the wonderful people I've had in my life!"

Junior has such a passion for creating new artwork with his hands, that he always finds time to create new artwork in his spare time. It's from that passion where he began to sculpt miniature babies in polymer clay. Those of us who know him, knew that he would be very successful at it! He has been sculpting miniature babies since April of 2006 and has loved the whole new world of creativity it has opened up for him. He's also been blessed to have met so many new, wonderful people. Junior is particularly excited about his newest creation, a "Limited Edition" miniature baby "Kristia" produced in resin. He looks forward to creating more and more life-like miniature babies as well as all the new wonderful friends he'll meet along the way. When recently asked how long will he continue to create new and wonderful artwork, he just simply replied, "As long as it continues to make people happy,...I plan to keep doing it forever!!!"

As many of you know, a few months ago, we implemented a new Stats Tracking feature into the No.1 Artist community that allows you to track the number of visitors and hits you've received to each page of your No.1 Artist portfolio.  This feature has received positive feedback from our members and it seems many of you really appreciate the ability to track and monitor your portfolio stats.

A common question many of you ask is - How do I increase the traffic to my No.1 Artist portfolio?  This is a great question and today I'd like to provide you with a few ideas that will help increase your traffic and generate more sales for you.

Write about yourself and your Art on the No.1 Artist Blog

As a member of No.1 Artist, you will be able to write your own articles, add them to specific categories and publish them on the community Artist Blog for everyone else to read.

By doing this, you will build credibility, increase your exposure and begin to brand your name in the Art community. Every time you publish a post on the Artist Blog it will become indexed in the major search engines. If someone comes across your post, they will be able to read it and link directly back to your No.1 Artist portfolio.

A great first post would be to introduce yourself and let us know how you became an Artist.

Always Include a Link to your No.1 Artist Portfolio

Every time you make a post on the Internet, be sure to include a link to your No.1 Artist portfolio.   If your No.1 Artist username was "Username", then your link would be www.number1artist.com/username.

To convert this into an HTML link, simply replace "username" below with your No.1 Artist username.

Post this in forums, on your MySpace, Facebook and Friendster accounts, on Craigslist, and anywhere else you make a post.  This will increase your traffic to your No.1 Artist portfolio... guaranteed!

Compete in our No.1 Artist Gallery Contests

Every month or so, we try to hold an online contest for our members to compete against one another in our online Gallery Showcase.  Our contest provides great exposure for our members and especially for the winner of each contest.  Each Gallery champion will have their artwork displayed on the homepage of No.1 Artist until the next Gallery champion has been crowned - this is great exposure.

Some of our most successful artists selling the most products are the winners of the Gallery contest because their art is the first thing people see when going to www.number1artist.com. 

In order to be accepted into our Gallery Showcase, you must have at least one picture uploaded to your No.1 Artist portfolio and must have at least one product for sale.  If you've satisfied these requirements, you will receive an email to be invited into our next Gallery contest (make sure your email address is correct in your account).

These three things will greatly increase the traffic to your No.1 Artist portfolio and will hopefully generate more sales for you.
